PROFESSIONAL FELT WHEEL - MEDIUM

Use these felt wheels to produce the ultimate, mirror polished edge. The finest edge you can get on any tool is with a strop or a felt wheel.
Made from compressed wool, felt wheels have excellent resilience and are long lasting.

The medium grade felt is a good choice for final edge polishing of both straight-edged tools and tools with gently curved profiles.
It gives excellent results on plane irons and carving gouges with wide sweeps.
A medium felt wheel is still very firm, but is more suitable for carving tools where a very small amount of deformation is desirable to accommodate a slight curvature.

When the wheel is dressed with a honing compound, the edge obtained is comparable to that of a razor blade.
For best results use with Blue Steelbrite, Flexcut gold or Veritas green compound.

Each 100mm diameter x 20mm wide wheel has a 12mm bore for mounting onto the Ultimate Edge “Twist n Fix” arbor.

Please note that blades should always be presented to the wheel so the edge of the tool trails, i.e. the direction of rotation is away from the tool.
