Sorby Deep Hollowing System

The RS2000 System was developed from an original idea by American woodturner, Dennis Stewart. It is a flexible system which enables deep vessel hollowing with the minimum of timber wastage. Indeed several bowls may be produced from one blank thereby saving money on expensive timbers. The RS2000 System lends itself not just to hollow forms but with the use of the slicer will produce picture frames and other large rings. The RS2000 System and its predecessor have now been sold throughout the world for more than ten years. Following heavy demand, the arm brace which helps to control the tool in use has been re-introduced. This is available separately. The full RS2000 System is supplied in a compact, robust mahogony stained and lacquered case fitted with brass clasps and hinges, carrying handle and instruction manual. The lid is designed, as illustrated, to hold the Robert Sorby 7" callipers 977 (available separately).
